I’m pretty sure all of the die-hard Atlanta Falcons fans stopped reading after the headline. If you were brave enough to venture past the header though, then it’s probably because you bypassed the article to begin posting nasty remarks in my comments section lol.

I have to give Falcons fans more credit than that though. Some people are willing to hear a good argument even if it’s one they don’t agree with.

Adrian Peterson may have a point…

Minnesota Vikings’ running back Adrian Peterson endorsed backup quarterback Matt Cassel as the permanent starter after Cassel led the team to a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

This endorsement came in an after-game interview, officially stirring a quarterback controversy in Minnesota.

Colin Kaepernick’s new nickname: “They Hate Me”

I know it’s a dated reference but I remember when former Carolina Panthers running back Rod Smart used to go by the moniker “He Hate Me.” It was a phrase he picked up from one of his teammates that basically stated that every one of his opponents hated him.

Smart really made a statement when he used this phrase on the back of his jersey during his playing time in the failed XFL football league. Others players in that league used variations of his phrase on the backs of their jerseys and one of his former teammates even named a horse they owned “She Hate Me” in reference to Smart.

Falcons Will Return to Playoffs, but That’s About It…

Sorry Atlanta Falcons fans but if you’re looking for your team to make the Super Bowl this year then I can save you 20 weeks’ worth of time right now. It won’t happen this year.

Karma is a b****, and the New England Patriots might be feeling her wrath after their mistreatment of former wide receiver Wes Welker.

Welker who has been the Patriots most productive receiver over the last six seasons, was unceremoniously allowed to walk in free agency as the Patriots opted for a youth movement in their receiving corps.

Tebow draws little interest despite read-option trend

Maybe I'm missing something here but I don't understand why New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow has drawn so little interest from teams this offseason.

Even his hometown team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, is reportedly not seeking to add him to their roster. This despite the fact that he could probably be acquired fairly cheap at this point and they don’t seem to be going very far with the quarterback they have on hand.

Will Tim Tebow reach the promised land?

It may seem a little disingenuous using a biblical reference to describe the latest situation surrounding New York Jets’ backup quarterback Tim Tebow but what would be the point in writing these things if you couldn’t have a little fun with it?

Besides, it kind of fits in a way. Especially when you consider how Tebow’s football odyssey has gone so far.

Falcons’ defense has evolved this season

While calling it “championship-caliber” may still be somewhat of a stretch, the Atlanta Falcons’ defensive unit is playing much better this year than it had the first four years of Mike Smith’s coaching tenure.

You probably couldn’t tell by looking at the statistics though. The Falcons rank 23^rd defensively and have given up a lot of yards this season.

Any options left for Michael Vick?

The Philadelphia Eagles have turned the quarterback position over to rookie Nick Foles for the rest of the season which leads everyone to believe one thing: Michael Vick’s days are numbered in Philly. If that is true then we will find out soon if Vick still has a future as a starting quarterback in the NFL.

More than likely Vick will be playing for a new team by the start of next season. He has too much talent for some teams to pass up.

NFL Comeback Player of the Year race: Peyton Manning versus Adrian Peterson

When is the last time people were this divided over a Comeback Player of the Year race? Usually this is a pretty cut and simple decision but Denver Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning and Minnesota Vikings’ running back Adrian Peterson have made this year’s Comeback Player of the Year award an actual race.

It’s hard to remember when two names as big as Manning and Peterson were both in the running for the award. While Manning has been having a monster year after missing all of the 2011 season, Peterson is having his best ever season statistically during a time when he should be still recovering.

Falcons repay Saints for ending their unbeaten streak

The Atlanta Falcons had something to prove going into their matchup with the New Orleans Saints on Thursday. Earlier in the season, the Saints ended Atlanta’s unbeaten record and served the Falcons with their only loss of the season.

Now frankly, Falcons really don’t need any motivation to face the Saints. These two teams have been bitter rivals for a long time. Regardless of what each team’s record says this is always a big matchup.

League-leading Falcons, Texans struggle for respect

10-1. Both the Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans share this league-leading record but as players on both teams will tell you, nobody in the media seems to be interested in these two teams’ success.

So why has respect been so hard for the Falcons and Texans to come by? Well as a long time Falcons fan I can probably answer why they get so little respect a little quicker.

Week 1 NFL Rookie QB Report: Redskins’ RG3 Rules

Week 1 of the 2012 NFL season saw a record five rookies starting at the quarterback position for their respective teams. Only two guys were projected to be opening-day starters for their teams when these guys were drafted back in April.

Before this year, no more than two rookie quarterbacks have started Week 1 of a season so the 2012 quarterback class has already pushed its way into the record books but could this quarterback class prove to be the best of all-time?

Record number of rookie quarterbacks slated to start Week 1 of season

So far the number is holding at three which would be a record according the Elias Sports Bureau. Since the AFL-NFL merger, no more than two rookie quarterbacks have started Week 1 of the season as their team’s starting quarterback.

That looks to change with the Indianapolis Colts’ Andrew Luck, the Washington Redskins’ Robert Griffin III and the Cleveland Browns’ Brandon Weeden all expected to start the season at quarterback for their respective teams.

Could Andy Reid’s recent tragedy be a good thing for Eagles?

It’s never a good feeling to lose a loved one so this has to be a very painful time for Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid who just lost his son this past week to an apparent suicide.

This was already shaping up to be a tough season for Reid who many believe is already on the hot seat but to couple the massive expectations he and his team face this year with the tragedy of a loss could spell trouble for this championship-starved franchise.

Vikings wouldn’t be first Minnesota-team to move to L.A.

People are asking could the Minnesota Vikings really wind up in Los Angeles? It’s doubtful but the people of Minnesota shouldn’t get too cocky. If the Vikings don’t get a new stadium then a move to L.A. is a very real option.

Especially if the people of Minnesota remember the last time they had a franchise leave their great state. The Minnesota Lakers moved to L.A. and are now one of the most storied franchises in the NBA.

Cam Newton, Panthers

The 2011 NFL draft produced a lot of nice gems for teams to build on. When you consider the seasons that players like Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Aldon Smith and Von Miller had, this draft had to be one of the most productive drafts in a while. What’s even more remarkable is that these guys were able to have such incredible seasons despite having  their offseason shortened due to the lockout.

Should Peyton Manning Risk Coming Back This Season?

I started to ask would Peyton Manning play this year if given the chance but we already know the answer to that. His Indianapolis Colts are dead last in the league having yet to win a game. Manning has been tormented all year watching the losses pile up; watching his teammates mope around with their heads bowed down week after week in the locker room after each game.
