Colin Kaepernick’s new nickname: “They Hate Me”

I know it’s a dated reference but I remember when former Carolina Panthers running back Rod Smart used to go by the moniker “He Hate Me.” It was a phrase he picked up from one of his teammates that basically stated that every one of his opponents hated him.

Smart really made a statement when he used this phrase on the back of his jersey during his playing time in the failed XFL football league. Others players in that league used variations of his phrase on the backs of their jerseys and one of his former teammates even named a horse they owned “She Hate Me” in reference to Smart.

Jim Harbaugh’s lie could tarnish his reputation with his players

I’ve heard coaches stretch the truth, avoid questions they don’t want to answer and even “interpret” a question differently in order to give the response they want but it always bothers me when a coach just flat out lies to the media.

San Francisco 49ers’ head coach Jim Harbaugh addressed what he called an “erroneous perception that we were flirting with Peyton Manning,” in a meeting with reporters on Wednesday. How sad is that?

Does Jim Harbaugh really trust Alex Smith?

When a team plays as well as the San Francisco 49ers did last season, usually the quarterback gets a lot of credit for that and quarterback Alex Smith was rightfully deserving of the credit. Smith guided the 49ers to a 13-3 regular season record and nearly led them to the Super Bowl.

When you dig deeper into the 49ers' passing statistics though, you start to get a very different picture of Smith as a quarterback. Sure he put together a great season, throwing 17 touchdowns while tossing only five interceptions, but many of his other numbers were extremely pedestrian.

Will Peyton Manning choose money or rings?

The Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers are the last three teams left in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes and are expecting him to make a decision by Tuesday. All three teams have made a strong pitch for Manning’s services but what will be the deciding factor for Manning in his search for a new team?

Randy Moss, 49ers marriage won’t work

The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to a one-year deal with wide receiver Randy Moss after his impressive workout on Monday. Moss caught balls from Coach Jim Harbaugh during his workout on Monday but maybe he should have been catching passes from Alex Smith.

Playoffs: For Falcons, Getting There is Half the Problem

The Atlanta Falcons are not a team with a rich playoff history. As a matter of fact, up until this year the team had never made the playoffs in consecutive years but in past seasons when the Falcons did make the playoffs they usually made it count.

Alex Smith Lays Down the Law

The New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees is an attacker, a game-changer. In today’s NFL he represents the modern-day outlaw. A gunslinger who comes into your house guns blazing and steals a win.
