Tebow draws little interest despite read-option trend

Maybe I'm missing something here but I don't understand why New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow has drawn so little interest from teams this offseason.

Even his hometown team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, is reportedly not seeking to add him to their roster. This despite the fact that he could probably be acquired fairly cheap at this point and they don’t seem to be going very far with the quarterback they have on hand.

Will Tim Tebow reach the promised land?

It may seem a little disingenuous using a biblical reference to describe the latest situation surrounding New York Jets’ backup quarterback Tim Tebow but what would be the point in writing these things if you couldn’t have a little fun with it?

Besides, it kind of fits in a way. Especially when you consider how Tebow’s football odyssey has gone so far.

Maurice Jones-Drew didn’t win but neither did Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan refused to budge. Although many people believe that Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew has outperformed his contract, Khan refused to cave-in to his star running back’s demands for a new contract.

And it seems that Khan won the standoff with Jones-Drew after Jones-Drew ended his 38-day holdout and returned to the team on Sunday despite not receiving the new contract he petitioned for.

Nowhere to go but up for Jaguars’ Blaine Gabbert

The Jacksonville Jaguars were a horrible passing team last year. They were ranked dead-last in passing yards despite having one of the league’s most efficient running games.

And although there were many factors that contributed to the Jaguars’ pathetic passing numbers, quarterback Blaine Gabbert has shouldered most of the blame for Jacksonville’s poor numbers.

Jaguars will take Michael Floyd in draft

Most people expect the Jacksonville Jaguars to select a defensive lineman with the seventh overall pick but look for the Jaguars to select Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd in the draft.

Jaguars get second shot at Tim Tebow

Back in the 2010 NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars gambled that they would be able to select quarterback Tim Tebow with either their third round pick or have the opportunity to move up and draft him in the second round.

Swap Meet: Falcons, Jaguars Exchange Offensive Coordinators

Here’s a question for Atlanta Falcons fans. How do you improve an offense that was shutout in the playoffs? By hiring the offensive coordinator of the leagues’ last-ranked offense, that’s how.

Khan Job: New Management, Same Old Jaguars

I can’t begin to feel what Jacksonville Jaguars fans are feeling right now but I know it can’t be good. New owner Shahid Khan promised them that things would get better and for a couple of weeks things looked as if they might.

Florida Trifecta: All Three Florida Teams Will Have New Coaches in 2012

Jack Del Rio was the first to go after being fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars only eleven games into the season. Tony Sparano wasn’t far behind getting fired two weeks later by the Miami Dolphins which leaves the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the only Florida franchise still coached by the person that started the season with them. That may not be for long though.

Falcons Dispatch Jaguars in a Laugher 41-14

Atlanta – Matt Ryan had another great passing day for the Atlanta Falcons as he torched the Jacksonville Jaguars for 224 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-14 win. The Falcons scored early and often in this one and were up 41-0 on Jacksonville before the Jaguars scored off of a blocked punt in the third quarter.

Falcons Claw Back to Defeat Panthers 31-23

Charlotte – Matt Ryan threw for 318 yards and four touchdowns as the Atlanta Falcons battled back from a 16-point deficit at halftime to defeat the Carolina Panthers 31-23. Atlanta’s defense pitched a shutout in the second half and forced two interceptions by Cam Newton. Ryan would toss three touchdowns in the second half to lead the Falcons to an eight-point win over their division foe.
