NFL Draft Musings: Top Ten Picks Over the Past Decade

Cam Newton, Panthers

The 2011 NFL draft produced a lot of nice gems for teams to build on. When you consider the seasons that players like Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Aldon Smith and Von Miller had, this draft had to be one of the most productive drafts in a while. What’s even more remarkable is that these guys were able to have such incredible seasons despite having  their offseason shortened due to the lockout.

Is There a Market for Welker Outside New England?

Looking at Wes Welker’s numbers, you would expect him to receive a big payday this offseason. Welker has been the New England Patriots’ most productive receiver over the past five years but there are a couple of factors that may determine if he receives that big payday or not.

Catching The Mark: Saints’ Receivers Make Life A Brees For Drew

Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints had one of the most prolific passing seasons ever, eclipsing Dan Marino’s 27-year-old single-season passing record in only 15 games. Brees is usually among the league’s passing leaders year in and year out but you don’t accomplish a feat like that without quality receivers which the Saints have in abundance.

Falcons Revenge Earlier Loss to Buccaneers 45-24

Atlanta – Michael Turner rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns as the Atlanta Falcons ran all over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 45-24. Atlanta came into their rematch with the Buccaneers focused on putting last weeks’ debacle in New Orleans behind them. They were also on a mission to avenge their loss to the Buccaneers in Tampa earlier this season.
