Detroit Lions’ Barry Sanders is the greatest running back that ever lived


He’s listed third on the NFL’s list of career rushing leaders but anyone who ever watched Detroit Lions’ running back Barry Sanders play will tell you he is the greatest running back in the history of the game.

Nobody ran it like Barry Sanders. Most of the best running backs to have played the game could squeeze another three to four yards out of a busted play but Sanders made a career of producing long runs when there was absolutely no openings for him to run through.

Too much Philip Rivers is bad for Norv Turner’s job stability


Norv Turner isn’t a bad coach. No seriously. And that is one of the reasons why the San Diego Chargers decided to give him one more chance to get this team playing up to its potential but like every coach Turner’s fate is tied closely to the performance of his quarterback; Philip Rivers.

Emmitt Smith’s rushing record won’t be broken


Walter Peyton stepped away from football after his very last game back on January 10th, 1988; a 21-17 playoff loss to the Washington Redskins. When he hung up his cleats he had rushed for 16,726 yards in his career. A total that many thought would never be broken.

DeMarco Murray key to improving Cowboys


Rookie running back DeMarco Murray made a Jeremy Lin-like splash on the NFL last year when he replaced starter Felix Jones during the Cowboys’ Week 7 game versus the St. Louis Rams. Murray came off the bench and rushed for a Cowboys’ record 253 yards and was the catalyst to the Cowboys going undefeated in the month of November.
