Greatest wide receiver ever: Is Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald even in the conversation?

Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals is probably one of the best wide receivers to ever play the game. He keeps himself in tremendous shape, is a super hard worker and is a tough matchup for any defensive back with his freaky combination of size, speed and catching ability.

But how do his numbers compare to those of Jerry Rice, the wide receiver that is considered the best to ever play the game? Not bad when you compare what Fitzgerald has done in his first eight seasons with what Rice did in his first eight.

Cardinals’ Peterson, Stephens-Howling deserve special attention

The Arizona Cardinals are looking to improve both on offense and defense this season but the one area that may give them the biggest boost in 2012 is their special teams. Arizona looks to have one of the leagues’ most dangerous return games with Patrick Peterson and LaRod Stephens-Howling returning kicks and punts for them.

Peterson provided a very pleasant surprise for the Cardinals with his punt returning ability. They expected him to provide a spark their but never in their wildest dreams did they believe he would be that effective.

Can the Cardinals win with Kevin Kolb?

The Arizona Cardinals’ fortunes are tied very heavily to their quarterback situation. When Kurt Warner was their starter they won. When Derek Anderson or Matt Leinert started they lost. When John Skelton started they went 5-2 (not including a win against the San Francisco 49ers that Skelton orchestrated after Kevin Kolb went down early in the first quarter) but interestingly enough they were only 2-6 when Kolb took most of the snaps in a game.
